Instead of recommending over-the-counter and prescription medications, we encourage patients to get to the root of the problem rather than masking the problem by only treating symptoms associated with their triggers.

These symptoms can be caused environmental allergies. In areas, such as Texas, allergies are a year round ongoing struggle for patients to cope with but are now easier to test and treat.

What to Expect/ Treatment: Allergy Drops – Previously patients only had the option of doing allergy shots to build up their immunity to environmental allergens. Now you can treat the cause of your allergies safely and effectively – without shots. We are one of the few practices that offers our patients allergy immunotherapy that you can take home. It’s called sublingual immunotherapy – or allergy drops.

Allergy drops work similar to allergy shots. They slowly desensitize you to the substance that causes your allergic reactions over the course of a year or two. Not only are allergy drops more convenient, research also shows they are safe and effective for all ages and patients often notice improvement relatively quickly. Most patients receiving allergy drops need only a few clinic visits the first year, and once every 6-12 months thereafter until visits are no longer needed which translates to lower cost and fewer office visits.
